Octopamine, also known as beta,4-dihydroxyphenethylamine, is an endogenous biogenic amine that is closely related to norepinephrine, and has effects on the adrenergic and dopaminergic systems. Octopamine is found in lemon, sweet orange, and pepper (c. frutescens).
