Gartanin is a member of the class of xanthones that is 9H-xanthen-9-one substituted by hydroxy groups at positions 1, 3, 5 and 8 and prenyl groups at positions 2 and 4. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent and a plant metabolite. It is a member of xanthones and a polyphenol.
Gartanin is a natural product found in Morus insignis, Pentadesma butyracea, and other organisms with data available.
