Cyclopiazonic acid (CPA), a neurotoxic secondary metabolite (SM) made by Aspergillus flavus, is an inhibitor of endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase (Ca2+ATPase; SERCA) and a potent inducer of cell death in plants[1].
