Mirtazapine is an antidepressant introduced by Organon International in 1996 used for the treatment of moderate to severe depression. Mirtazapine has a tetracyclic chemical structure and is classified as a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). It is the only tetracyclic antidepressant that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat depression. [Wikipedia]

(R)-Mirtazapine ((R)-Org3770) is a R(?)-enantiomer of Mirtazapine with antinociceptive properties in an animal model of acute thermal nociception. (R)-Mirtazapine is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. (R)-Mirtazapine is mainly metabolized by CYP3A4[1].
Mirtazapine (Org3770) is a potent and orally active noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA) agent. Mirtazapine is also a 5-HT2, 5-HT3, histamine H1 receptor and α2-adrenoceptor antagonist with pKi values of 8.05, 8.1, 9.3 and 6.95, respectively[1][2].
