1,2,3,4,6-Pentagalloyl_glucose
1,2,3,4,6-pentakis-O-galloyl-beta-D-glucose is a galloyl-beta-D-glucose compound having five galloyl groups in the 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-positions. It has a role as a geroprotector, a radiation protective agent, an antineoplastic agent, a radical scavenger, an anti-inflammatory agent, a plant metabolite and a hepatoprotective agent. It is a gallate ester and a galloyl beta-D-glucose. It is a conjugate acid of a 1,2,3,4,6-pentakis-O-galloyl-beta-D-glucose(1-). Pentagalloylglucose is a natural product found in Quercus aliena, Cercidiphyllum japonicum, and other organisms with data available. See also: Paeonia lactiflora root (part of); Lagerstroemia speciosa leaf (part of). A galloyl-beta-D-glucose compound having five galloyl groups in the 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-positions. Pentagalloylglucose (Penta-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose) is a gallotannin isolated from various plants. It suppressed interleukin (IL)-4 induced signal pathway in B cell, and inhibited IgE production partially caused by increasing a population of Treg cells in conjunction with Treg-inducing factors. Pentagalloylglucose possesses significant anti-rabies virus (RABV) activity. Pentagalloylglucose (Penta-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose) is a gallotannin isolated from various plants. Nitrofurazone
Nitrofurazone is only found in individuals that have used or taken this drug. It is a topical anti-infective agent effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. It is used for superficial wounds, burns, ulcers, and skin infections. Nitrofurazone has also been administered orally in the treatment of trypanosomiasis. [PubChem]The exact mechanism of action is unknown. Nitrofurazone inhibits several bacterial enzymes, especially those involved in the aerobic and anaerobic degradation of glucose and pyruvate. This activity is believed also to affect pyruvate dehydrogenase, citrate synthetase, malate dehydrogenase, glutathione reductase, and pyruvate decarboxylase. (+)-Sesamin
(+)-Sesamin, also known as fagarol or sezamin, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as furanoid lignans. These are lignans with a structure that contains either a tetrahydrofuran ring, a furan ring, or a furofuan ring system, that arises from the joining of the two phenylpropanoid units. (+)-Sesamin is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). (+)-Sesamin is found, on average, in the highest concentration within sesames. (+)-Sesamin has also been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as fats and oils, flaxseeds, ginkgo nuts, and ucuhuba. This could make (+)-sesamin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. (+)-sesamin is a lignan that consists of tetrahydro-1H,3H-furo[3,4-c]furan substituted by 1,3-benzodioxole groups at positions 1 and 4 (the 1S,3aR,4S,6aR stereoisomer). Isolated from Cinnamomum camphora, it exhibits cytotoxic activity. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent, a neuroprotective agent and a plant metabolite. It is a lignan, a member of benzodioxoles and a furofuran. Sesamin is a natural product found in Pandanus boninensis, Podolepis rugata, and other organisms with data available.
