Sinomenine

(1R,9S,10R)-3-Hydroxy-4,12-dimethoxy-17-methyl-17-azatetracyclo[7.5.3.01,10.02,7]heptadeca-2(7),3,5,11-tetraen-13-one

C19H23NO4 (329.1627)

Sinomenine is a morphinane alkaloid. Sinomenine is a natural product found in Sinomenium acutum, Stephania cephalantha, and other organisms with data available. Sinomenine is an alkaloid isolated from the root of Sinomenium acutum with immunomodulatory and potential anti-angiogenic and activities. Although the mechanism of action remains to be fully elucidated, sinomenine appears to inhibit endothelial proliferation mediated through basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), which may contribute to its anti-angiogenic effect. In Chinese medicine, this agent has a long track-record in treating arthritis, which is accounted by its ability to inhibit proliferation of synovial fibroblasts and lymphocytes. In addition, sinomenine has been shown to suppress expressions of genes involved in inflammation and apoptosis, such as interleukin-6, a pleiotropic inflammatory cytokine and JAK3 (Janus kinase 3), Daxx (death-associated protein 6), plus HSP27 (heat shock 27kDa protein 1), respectively. Dacarbazine

Dacarbazine, Pharmaceutical Secondary Standard; Certified Reference Material

C6H10N6O (182.0916)

Dacarbazine appears as white to ivory microcrystals or off-white crystalline solid. (NTP, 1992) (E)-dacarbazine is a dacarbazine in which the N=N double bond adopts a trans-configuration. An antineoplastic agent. It has significant activity against melanomas. (from Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 31st ed, p564). Dacarbazine with Oblimersen is in clinical trials for the treatment of malignant melanoma. Dacarbazine is an Alkylating Drug. The mechanism of action of dacarbazine is as an Alkylating Activity. Dacarbazine (also known as DTIC) is an intravenously administered alkylating agent used in the therapy of Hodgkin disease and malignant melanoma. Dacarbazine therapy has been associated with serum enzyme elevations during therapy and occasional cases of severe and distinctive acute hepatic failure, probably caused by acute sinusoidal obstruction syndrome. Dacarbazine is a triazene derivative with antineoplastic activity. Dacarbazine alkylates and cross-links DNA during all phases of the cell cycle, resulting in disruption of DNA function, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. (NCI04) An antineoplastic agent. It has significant activity against melanomas. (from Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 31st ed, p564) Dacarbazine is only found in individuals that have used or taken this drug. It is an antineoplastic agent. It has significant activity against melanomas. (from Martindale, The Extra Pharmacopoeia, 31st ed, p564)The mechanism of action is not known, but appears to exert cytotoxic effects via its action as an alkylating agent. Other theories include DNA synthesis inhibition by its action as a purine analog, and interaction with SH groups. Dacarbazine is not cell cycle-phase specific. 1-Methyladenosine

C11H15N5O4 (281.1124)

1-Methyladenosine, also known as M1A, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as purine nucleosides. Purine nucleosides are compounds comprising a purine base attached to a ribosyl or deoxyribosyl moiety. Precise m6A mapping by m6A-CLIP/IP (briefly m6A-CLIP) revealed that a majority of m6A locates in the last exon of mRNAs in multiple tissues/cultured cells of mouse and human, and the m6A enrichment around stop codons is a coincidence that many stop codons locate round the start of last exons where m6A is truly enriched. The methylation of adenosine is directed by a large m6A methyltransferase complex containing METTL3 as the SAM-binding sub-unit. Insulin-like growth factor-2 mRNA-binding proteins 1, 2, and 3 (IGF2BP1-3) are reported as a novel class of m6A readers. 1-Methyladenosine is an RNA modification originating essentially from two different reaction types, one catalyzed by enzymes and the other the result of the reaction of RNA with certain alkylating agents. 1-Methyladenosine is an RNA modification originating essentially from two different reaction types, one catalyzed by enzymes and the other the result of the reaction of RNA with certain alkylating agents.

p-Toluenesulfonic acid

4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid

C7H8O3S (172.0194)

p-Toluenesulfonic acid, also known as tosylate or para-toluene sulfonate, is a member of the class of compounds known as p-methylbenzenesulfonates. p-Methylbenzenesulfonates are benzenesulfonic acids (or derivative thereof) carrying a methyl group at the para- position. p-Toluenesulfonic acid is slightly soluble (in water) and an extremely strong acidic compound (based on its pKa). p-Toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA or pTsOH) or tosylic acid (TsOH) is an organic compound with the formula CH3C6H4SO3H. It is a white solid that is soluble in water, alcohols, and other polar organic solvents. The CH3C6H4SO2– group is known as the tosyl group and is often abbreviated as Ts or Tos. Most often, TsOH refers to the monohydrate, TsOH•H2O. It is a white solid that is soluble in water, alcohols, and other polar organic solvents (Wikipedia). Estriol

C18H24O3 (288.1725)

Estriol is a metabolite of estrone metabolized via 16alpha-hydroxyestrone through the enzyme 16alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.147) or to 2- or 4-hydroxyestrone (catechol estrogens) by the action of catecho-O-methyltransferase (EC 2.1.1.6). The latter metabolites can be formed in the brain and may compete with receptors for catecholamines. Metabolites are conjugated with sulfate or glucuronide before excretion by the kidney. During pregnancy, estriol constitutes 60-70\\\\% of the total estrogens, increasing to 300-500-fold in relation to non-pregnant women. The late term human fetus produces relatively large amounts of 16 alphahydroxy DHEA, which serves the mother as a precursor of estriol. It has been shown that 90\\\\% of the precursors for the formation of estriol are of fetal origin. If abnormal maternal serum screening results, specifically low levels of unconjugated estriol in the second trimester are detected, a diagnosis of Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome (SLOS),or RSH is suspected. SLOS is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations of the gene encoding 7-dehydrocholesterol reductase (EC 1.3.1.21, DHCR7). (PMID: 16202579, 16112271, 16097001).
