Cefamandole

(6R,7R)-7-[(2R)-2-hydroxy-2-phenylacetamido]-3-{[(1-methyl-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-yl)sulfanyl]methyl}-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid

C18H18N6O5S2 (462.078)

Cefamandole is only found in individuals that have used or taken this drug. It is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. The clinically used form of cefamandole is the formate ester cefamandole nafate, a prodrug which is administered parenterally. Cefamandole is no longer available in the United States.Like all beta-lactam antibiotics, cefamandole binds to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, causing the inhibition of the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolytic enzymes such as autolysins; it is possible that cefamandole interferes with an autolysin inhibitor. Latamoxef

(6R,7R)-7-[2-carboxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamido]-7-methoxy-3-{[(1-methyl-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-yl)sulfanyl]methyl}-8-oxo-5-oxa-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid

C20H20N6O9S (520.1012)

Broad- spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic similar in structure to the cephalosporins except for the substitution of an oxaazabicyclo moiety for the thiaazabicyclo moiety of certain cephalosporins. It has been proposed especially for the meningitides because it passes the blood-brain barrier and for anaerobic infections. Peucedanin

6-Hydroxy-2-isopropyl-3-methoxy-5-benzofuranacrylic acid delta-lactone

C15H14O4 (258.0892)

Peucedanin, also known as 2-isopropyl-3-methoxy-7h-furo[3,2-g]chromen-7-one or 4-methoxy-5-isopropylfuro(2,3:6,7)coumarin, is a member of the class of compounds known as psoralens. Psoralens are organic compounds containing a psoralen moiety, which consists of a furan fused to a chromenone to for 7H-furo[3,2-g]chromen-7-one. Peucedanin is practically insoluble (in water) and an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Peucedanin can be found in carrot, chervil, and wild carrot, which makes peucedanin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
