DIMBOA is a lactol that is DIBOA in which the hydrogen at position 7 is replaced by a methoxy group. It has been isolated from the maize plants. It has a role as a plant metabolite and an allelochemical. It is a lactol, a benzoxazine, an aromatic ether and a cyclic hydroxamic acid. It is functionally related to a DIBOA. 2,4-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one is a natural product found in Trichoderma virens with data available. 2,4-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one is found in cereals and cereal products. 2,4-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one is isolated from wheat, in which it is present mainly as glucoside. Appears to be a natural aphicide, insecticide and fungicide. Involved in the in vivo detoxification of herbicides , e.g. Simazin Isolated from wheat, in which it is present mainly as glucoside. Appears to be a natural aphicide, insecticide and fungicide. Involved in the in vivo detoxification of herbicides , e.g. Simazine. (R)-2,4-Dihydroxy-7-methoxy-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one is found in cereals and cereal products and corn. A lactol that is DIBOA in which the hydrogen at position 7 is replaced by a methoxy group. It has been isolated from the maize plants. DIMBOA, an antibiotic, is a benzoxazinoid, part of the chemical defense system of graminaceous plants such as maize, wheat, and rye. DIMBOA possess growth inhibitory properties against many strains of studied bacteria and fungi, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli as well as against Saccharomyces cerevisiae. DIMBOA exhibits a potent free-radical scavenging activity and a weaker iron (III) ions reducing activity. Antioxidant activity[1][2].

Xanthosine

C10H12N4O6 (284.0757)

Xanthosine, also known as xanthine riboside, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as purine nucleosides. Purine nucleosides are compounds comprising a purine base attached to a ribosyl or deoxyribosyl moiety. Xanthosine is a nucleoside derived from xanthine and ribose. Xanthosine exists in all living species, ranging from bacteria to plants to humans. In plants xanthosine is the biosynthetic precursor to 7-methylxanthosine which is produced by the action of the enzyme known as 7-methylxanthosine synthase. 7-Methylxanthosine in turn is the precursor to theobromine (the active alkaloid in chocolate), which in turn is the precursor to caffeine, the active alkaloid in coffee and tea. Within humans, xanthosine participates in a number of enzymatic reactions. In particular, xanthosine can be biosynthesized from xanthylic acid; which is catalyzed by the enzyme cytosolic purine 5-nucleotidase. In addition, xanthosine can be converted into xanthine and ribose 1-phosphate; which is mediated by the enzyme purine nucleoside phosphorylase. Xanthosine monophosphate (XMP) is an intermediate in purine metabolism, formed from IMP (inosine monophosphate). Biological Source: Production by guanine-free mutants of bacteria e.g. Bacillus subtilis, Aerobacter aerogenesand is also reported from seeds of Trifolium alexandrinum Physical Description: Prismatic cryst. (PMID: 16725387). Xanthosine is found in many foods, some of which are calabash, rambutan, apricot, and pecan nut. Raltitrexed is only found in individuals that have used or taken this drug. It is a chemotherapy drug manufactured AstraZeneca Company, is an antimetabolite used in chemotherapy. It is an inhibitor of thymidylate synthase.Raltitrexed is an antineoplastic Agents and folic acid antagonists. Raltitrexed inhibits thymidylate synthase (TS) leading to DNA fragmentation and cell death. It is transported into cells via a reduced folate carrier. Inside the cell Raltitrexed is extensively polyglutamated, which enhances thymidylate synthase inhibitory power and duration. Inhibition of this enzyme results in decreased synthesis of thymidine triphosphate which is required for DNA synthesis. Dimboa glucoside is a member of the class of compounds known as O-glycosyl compounds. O-glycosyl compounds are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a O-glycosidic bond. Dimboa glucoside is soluble (in water) and a very weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Dimboa glucoside can be found in common wheat and corn, which makes dimboa glucoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
