Pentachlorophenol

2,3,4,5,6-Pentachlorophenol (acd/name 4.0)

C6HCl5O (263.847)

Pentachlorophenol (PCP) is an organochlorine compound used as a pesticide and a disinfectant. First produced in the 1930s, it is marketed under many trade names. It can be found in two forms: PCP itself or as the sodium salt of PCP, which dissolves easily in water. 4,4'-Methylenedianiline

4,4-Diaminodiphenylmethane, sodium chloride (3:1)

C13H14N2 (198.1157)

4,4’-Methylenedianiline (MDA) is an industrial chemical that is produced and used industrially as a precursor to polyamides, epoxy resins, and polyurethane foams (PMID: 20621954). It is a primary aromatic amine, belonging to the family of compounds known as Diphenylmethanes. Diphenylmethanes are compounds consisting of methane with two of the hydrogen atoms replaced by phenyl groups. MDA is used mainly as a precursor to 4,4 ́-methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), which is a precursor to many polyurethane foams. To generate MDI, which is a highly reactive isocyanate, MDA is treated with phosgene. Workers exposed to MDI may develop sensitization, leading to occupational asthma. MDI is metabolized in the body and secreted in the urine as MDA, Therefore MDA is a urinary biomarker of MDI exposure. On its own, MDA is a known animal carcinogen, and human hepatotoxin. MDA produces genotoxic effects by forming DNA adducts in the liver and inducing DNA damage to hepatocytes (PMID: 32038824). The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has set a permissible exposure limit at 0.01 ppm over an eight-hour time-weighted average, and a short-term exposure limit at 0.10 ppm. 1-Hexadecanol

Normal primary hexadecyl alcohol

C16H34O (242.261)

Cetyl alcohol, also known as 1-hexadecanol and palmityl alcohol, is a solid organic compound and a member of the alcohol class of compounds. Its chemical formula is CH3(CH2)15OH. At room temperature, cetyl alcohol takes the form of a waxy white solid or flakes. It belongs to the group of fatty alcohols. With the demise of commercial whaling, cetyl alcohol is no longer primarily produced from whale oil, but instead either as an end-product of the petroleum industry, or produced from vegetable oils such as palm oil and coconut oil. Production of cetyl alcohol from palm oil gives rise to one of its alternative names, palmityl alcohol. Flavouring ingredient. Cetyl alcohol is found in many foods, some of which are rocket salad (sspecies), soft-necked garlic, bitter gourd, and kohlrabi. 1-Hexadecanol is a fatty alcohol, a lipophilic substrate. 1-Hexadecanol is a fatty alcohol, a lipophilic substrate.

Allyl alcohol

2-Propenyl alcohol

C3H6O (58.0419)

Allyl alcohol is found in onion-family vegetables. Allyl alcohol is present in garlic (Allium sativum).Allyl alcohol is an organic compound with the structural formula CH2=CHCH2OH. Like many alcohols, it is a water soluble, colourless liquid, but it is more toxic than typical small alcohols. Allyl alcohol is used as a raw material for the production of glycerol, but is used as a precursor to many specialized compounds. Allyl alcohol is the smallest representative of the allylic alcohols.
