Aryl thioethers are organosulfur compounds containing a thioether group that is substituted by an aryl group. 2-methylthio-3-isopropylpyrazine is slightly soluble (in water) and an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). 2-methylthio-3-isopropylpyrazine can be found in fenugreek, which makes 2-methylthio-3-isopropylpyrazine a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product.
