Pachypodol

4H-1-Benzopyran-4-one, 5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3,7-dimethoxy-

C18H16O7 (344.0895986)

Pachypodol is a trimethoxyflavone that is quercetin in which the hydroxy groups at position 3, 7 and 3 are replaced by methoxy groups. It has been isolated from Combretum quadrangulare and Euodia elleryana. It has a role as a plant metabolite and an antiemetic. It is a dihydroxyflavone and a trimethoxyflavone. It is functionally related to a quercetin. Pachypodol is a natural product found in Larrea cuneifolia, Macaranga triloba, and other organisms with data available. Pachypodol exerts antioxidant and cytoprotective effects in HepG2 cells[1].Pachypodol inhibits the growth of CaCo 2 colon cancer cell line in vitro(IC50 = 185.6 mM)[2].
