2-hydroxyflutamide

2-hydroxy-2-methyl-N-[4-nitro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]propanimidic acid

C11H11F3N2O4 (292.0671)

2-hydroxyflutamide is a metabolite of flutamide. Flutamide is an oral nonsteroidal antiandrogen drug primarily used to treat prostate cancer. It competes with testosterone and its powerful metabolite, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) for binding to androgen receptors in the prostate gland. By doing so, it prevents them from stimulating the prostate cancer cells to grow. Flutamide has been largely replaced by a newer member of this class, bicalutamide, due to a better side-effect profile. TG(8:0/8:0/8:0)

Octanoic acid, 1,1,1-(1,2,3-propanetriyl) ester

C27H50O6 (470.3607)

TG(8:0/8:0/8:0) belongs to the family of triradyglycerols, which are glycerolipids lipids containing a common glycerol backbone to which at least one fatty acyl group is esterified. Their general formula is [R1]OCC(CO[R2])O[R3]. TG(8:0/8:0/8:0) is made up of one octanoyl(R1), one octanoyl(R2), and one octanoyl(R3). It is used in bakery products. Carrier for essential oils and flavours. Glycerol trioctanoate is found in cereals and cereal products.
